The Ginger Hall AKA ‘The Ginge’ is a local landmark.
The majestic building has stood proud on the TT course since the 1800’s, and it has continuously traded as a hotel and pub to this date.
A local to the Sulby massive, a hotspot for TT revellers and a top drawer stop off on a TT bus/coach pub crawl – the Ginge is a firm fave on the Island pub scene.
Just a few months ago one of Gef’s favourite raconteurs, Ben Sowrey, took the Ginge by the helm and has since transformed the place into a desirable destination for not only a quick bev up North, but for a full affy out.
The dining room out the back has had a glorious refurb.
Light, airy, but v homely – you know that feeling you get when you sit down at your Nan’s dining table ready for a coma-inducing feed? That’s the feeling you get sitting down in the Ginge.
There’s a full play area out the back so you can rid yourself of the nippers – gloriously situated within a beautiful garden (full of V dece conkers at the minute…FYI)
Hailed as the Isle of Man’s answer to Gordon Ramsey (by us, and his Dad) local lad Matt Kneen has taken up the deserving position of Head Chef.
Combined, Matt and Ben have nailed the menu, offering up some fckn delighful pub classics, alongside some more fancy gastropub-esque dishes, all homemade and genuinely delicious.
There’s a good selection of veggie and vegan dishes too and they’re well equipped to deal with all dietary requirements, just let ’em know before you arrive and they’ll sort you out.
Last week, Ben and Matt kindly invited us down for a Gef family meal, and we’ve been dreaming of the exceptional fodder ever since.
