What better way to start 2018 than with a freezing cold run, dash and dip into the freeeeeeeezing Isle of Man waters?
On the 1st of January every year, hundreds of local Manxies don their swimming suits, trunks (some too short) and fancy dress outfits to take the plunge into the cold cold sea.
Call us mad b#stards if you want (and that’s exactly what we are) it’s a great way to shift the hangover, have some fun and more importantly raise some money for charity.
If you don’t fancy a dip, head down to the various locations and join in by cheering on the dippers, and if you’re feeling extra happy donate some money for the charities.
Here’s a short list of the dips happening around the Island:
#1 Douglas New Year dip
If you’ve a particularly bad head come January 1st 2018, join the 100’s of mad b******s on Douglas beach opposite the Queen’s Pub (warm-up at 11.15am) for a casual swim in the Irish Sea and repent for any New Year’s Eve sins you may have committed the night before… Facebook event is here!
The best part? It’s all in the name of charity, sign up at www.douglasdip.com and start raising funds for ‘Breast Cancer Now’, now!
