If you’ve never had the pleasure of meeting David Castro, you’re missing out.
Local hero David has already been crowned the people’s favourite worker, after winning the Douglas Borough Council’s Customer Service Champion awards two years in a row.
Not content with being crowned the ‘nicest guy in town’, he has now set his sights on the X-Factor.
David has his LIVE AUDITION today! Gef sat down with down him earlier this week to find out more about his journey…
So David, what inspired you to enter the X Factor?
Quids Inn did! The auditions were staged there and they put my name forward.
What has the process been like so far?
It’s comprised of a lot of e-mail questionnaires, audio/videos of the songs I chose, sending photos.
How are the nerves ahead of the live audition?
The nerves are more of excitement with the chance to perform to what will be my biggest audience to date.
What song are you going to sing?
My song choices are; Lionel Ritchie – All Night Long, The Drifters – Saturday Night at the Movies, Lighthouse Family – High, The Temptations – My Girl and an acapella of Ben E. King – Stand by Me.
Who is your favourite X Factor Judge?
My favourite judge would be Simon though I have met Robbie Williams.
Where would you like to take your entertainment career?
I’d like for my entertaining career to take me to a level where I could have this as a permanent job.
Where is your favourite place to perform on the Isle of Man?
My favourite place to perform is Quids Inn as the atmosphere there is buzzing
Is it coming home?
Absolutely! I’d like to go as far as I can with X-Factor!
